Ozone Delta 5 The all-new 2-liner Ozone Delta 5 is still perfectly placed in the C segment as its predecessors. It is the straight replacement of the successful Ozone Delta 4, keeping the ease of use, comfort of an accessible EN C, and adding the performance of a 2 liner. With 65 cells and an Aspect Ratio of 6.07, the canopy is built with Dominico 30D.
Brand new low aspect 2-liner design Legendary Ozone Delta accessibility, solidity and agility Simple take-off behaviour in all conditions Improved accelerated control, True-Performance Direct and precise handling New risers with height-adjustable B handles The Ozone Delta 5 legacy continues. The 5th generation has been designed to be the reference in comfort, ease of use and performance, with improved full speed efficiency and control thanks to the 2-line design.
The Pilot
The Ozone Delta 5 is designed for intermediate to advanced level pilots and is the ideal stepping stone into 2 line technology. Suitable for those moving up from a high-B glider and for the more experienced pilots wanting 2-liner control and performance in a lower aspect package for unparalleled ease of use.
The Tech
The Ozone Delta 5 is our lowest aspect ratio 2-liner wing. Derived from the Photon and developed using all of the knowledge gained from years of competition experience and 2 line technical know how, the Ozone Delta 5 is a solid compact platform ideal for XC flying in the most demanding conditions. The 2-line design allows for direct angle of attack control and reduced line drag for exceptional good levels of performance and ease of use never seen before in such a low aspect ratio concept. Compared to its predecessor, inflation, performance, accelerated control and general ease of use has been improved with absolutely no compromise to our True Performance promise.
The new inner structure architecture is optimised for structural integrity and low canopy weight, the wing absorbs turbulence without losing span cohesion so the wing remains compact even in the strongest air which is a very desirable characteristic for responsive handling on the strongest of conditions.
The new Ozone Delta 5 retains the ease of use and True Performance characteristics of its predecessor.
The 2 line architecture has allowed for an easier inflation process in all conditions, the wing tips are less likely to rise first. It does not overshoot in strong winds, rises fast and easy in nil-wind, and is generally more forgiving than any of our other 2 line designs.
In Flight
The Ozone Delta 5 offers a precise brake input response with high levels of roll and yaw authority, the direct feel is achieved whilst retaining an overall long brake travel that accepts deep inputs whether instantly changing the roll/yaw response in the thermal or for slowing the wing when performing challenging landing approaches.
Big ears can be performed with either the AR3 or BR3 technique. The AR3 requires a firm pull to initiate - we did not want to compromise the wing tip solidity in normal flying - but once in remains stable throughout the speed range. Big ears with BR3 are less effective but easier to initiate and faster to recover.
The Ozone Delta 5 features new risers with adjustable B-handle heights, enhancing ergonomic control to accommodate pilots of all shapes and sizes
