Independence Cruiser³ (LTF / EN A) - glider for beginners

First you've got to carry it, then it's gonna carry you!
We have spent more than one year of designing a successor for our popular Cruiser². That glider for beginners is going to accompany you far beyond your first flights. It is construed to meet the needs of beginners as well as other pilots, to whom enjoyment of flying is more important than upgrading and ultimate performance.

Why is Independence Cruiser³ especially suited for beginners and pleasure pilots?

Independence Cruiser³ has distinct self-stabilising flight characteristics, thus is very fault-tolerant regarding steering mistakes during take-off and flight. Handling is smooth and has a subtle modulation.
The wing is easy to centre - in light as well as in hard, disrupted thermal. An advantage, easily recognisable in gained altitude.
Of course Independence Cruiser³ has a very low stall point, that is indicated betimes by an increased steering pressure.

Why are take-offs with Independence Cruiser³ so easy?

Its particular facile take-off handling even starts with easy assorting of lines. Only 3 carrying straps with 2 lower lines each, make it easy and especially for beginners stress-free, to assort lines.
Due to its low weight and shape stable nylon rods within the leading edge, Independence Cruiser³ fills up perfectly during take-off.

For how long is a Independence Cruiser³ going to accompany me after schooling?

First of all that issue depends on your personal requirements, too. Independence Cruiser³ provides considerable performance: optimised diagonal ribs, shape stable nylon rods in the leading edge and top speed of 47km/h. Thus it is well suitable for your first distance flights . These facts make Independence Cruiser³ a constant companion not only to casual pilots.
We have deliberately worked out its handling, which is an essential factor in paragliding. Thus we achieved, compared to Cruiser², a refined and better responding handling, which shows its efficiency especially in thermal flying. Initiating spirals can be conducted without any time lag. Declining can precisely be controlled and adjusted.

What's the handling of Independence Cruiser³ like?

We have deliberately worked out the handling of Independence Cruiser³, as it is an essential factor in paragliding. As a result we achieved, compared to the previous model Cruiser², a refined and better responding handling, which shows its efficiency especially in thermal flying. Initiating spirals can be conducted without any time lag. Declining can precisely be controlled and adjusted.

What's new about the Independence Cruiser³ design?

An optimised strain calculation rendered with our new software attained an accurately defined canopy resulting in higher aerodynamic quality for the whole wing. Compared to Cruiser² the stretching has been extended by moderate 0,2 points and 5 more cells.
Nylon rods in the leading edge result in weight reduction and higher shape constancy. Improved lines geometry allows less overall lines dimension, thus provides less air drag and more performance capability – without any losses regarding stability or safety.

Which material is used for Independence Cruiser³?

For Independence Cruiser³ we have chosen material, which offered an ideal compromise on weight reduction, durability and robustness.
Every material we use is mady by leading manufacturers, whom we have been working and cooperating with in development issues for many years. A solid basis for high quality and for your long lasting enjoyment of flying Independence Cruiser³.
A detailed chart on material can be seen under „technical data“.
